Robert Oster’s Antelope Canyon is one of four Arizona-themed inks released together, and exclusive to the Arizona-based retailer Pen Chalet. As of December 2022, they have nine total for the Arizona-themed exclusives. This is a beautiful ink that truly captures the parades of warm oranges, burnt umbers, and browns within the iconic canyon’s shadowy twists and sun-streaked turns.

This delicious brown orange is full of character and personality. As both the splatter and writing show, there is a nice black sheen edging that surrounds wet areas and outlines written strokes. This makes the ink very clean and well-defined in writing. There’s some shading, which is especially notable on the insides of strokes. Pen Chalet says it dries in 6-8 seconds. On coated papers, I found 20 seconds was more the norm with my juicy medium test pen, but it didn’t bother me at all, and will really depend on the nib and paper choices you make.
