Private Reserve - Infinity Pine Green
Pine Green describes this ink perfectly. It’s a beautiful, rich dark forest green that brings mountain hikes and Christmas markets to mind. Uncoated papers show off the overall color more consistently, as the darker areas of strokes remain greens rather than dipping into the green-blacks you might see on coated papers. However, the shading of light stroke ends are more well-defined on coated papers giving sprinkles of sunshine like dew drops on pine boughs in the morning sun.
Pine Green is from Private Reserve’s Infinity series. That doesn’t mean that you can endlessly leave a pen uncapped and expect instant, even flow, but it does mean that you don’t really need to re-cap your pen during short pauses while contemplating your next paragraph or refilling you coffee or tea. I also think the ink may provide some help to pens that don’t seal perfectly and suffer hard-starts. When viewed this way, the Infinity inks work noticeably well. The series now includes fifteen colors, and we may see them continue to expand on that in the future.
Writing performance was very good. It’s a wet, but substantial feeling ink, and it gives very nicely defined strokes on premium papers. It’s almost equally good on cheap office copy paper, too. No complaints on stroke profiles. Show through is a bit strong on office copy in a juicy medium or broader nib, but I suspect this would be less noticeable with finer writing nibs. Drying was quicker than average, too.
Private Reserve’s Infinity Pine Green is a nice choice for office settings or for journaling for fun. The color is calming and sophisticated, and performance is reliable and consistent. This is a nice ink.
I really like where Yafa Brands are taking Private Reserve. Since taking the brand over, they’ve added several interesting series, and lots of attractive colors. I also really like the new 30 ml bottles! Special thanks to @privatereserveink.official and to @yafabrands_official for sending this and several other inks over to try.
