Monteverde - Blueberry Muffin
Yum! Blueberry muffins! Today’s ink is Blueberry Muffin from Monteverde’s delicious Sweet Life series. This is the seventh or eighth ink in the ten-ink series that I’ve reviewed, and they continue to impress!
Visually, this ink perfectly matches the color of the inside of a blueberry. It’s exactly what you see when tear open a muffin to reveal the broken blueberries inside. It’s a beautiful, rich, reddish-purple, similar to certain red wines. This is a nice shading ink, with light areas revealing a faded, almost fibrous translucency that results in a pinkish purple. Dark areas become a concentrated black purple that balances lighter areas well. The splatter shows a deep yellow gold sheen, but very little develops in writing. The blackened areas do show up, however, as a nice, dark halo on premiums, and that adds both depth and definition to written strokes.
As a writing ink, Blueberry Muffin is like most of the other Sweet Life inks and performs beautifully. Monteverde inks are generally reliable and easy-to-please. Strokes were clean and sharp on all six test papers. Drying was quick, too, at 10-15 seconds on premiums, and under 5 seconds on office copy. You won’t have any problems with this ink.
I like many of the Monteverde inks, and the Sweet Life series inks are particularly nice! At these prices, I recommend grabbing a bottle of any colors that interest you. Enjoy!
