LeeMing Ink Studio - Lost Case
This is a special ink. In the best way, it’s really confused me, and I love it! This is Lost Case from LeeMing Ink Studio in Taiwan.
Lost Case is a gentle, but firm winter’s sky blue. In medium or broader nibs, it’s quite confident despite the soft personality. It’s a lovely shading ink on all papers, with strong light and dark areas along each stroke. But there’s more…
The most amazing quality is the pink to reds that emerge in any areas of saturation. In normal writing, it consistently shows within strokes. I have quite a few blues that multi-shade with pink in that way, but I have never seen anything like the deep cinnamon red that show on the ink splash and the Cosmo Air Light swatch! I thought it must be shimmer at first, but it isn’t. Then, I thought it must be red pigment used within the blue dye ink, but it doesn’t appear to be. Lost Case is a dye ink.
In medium or broader nibs, writing is fantastic (finer nibs don’t give the saturation the blue really needs.) It’s a wet ink in flow with never a hint of feathering. Even on office copy paper, show-through was never an issue, either. Drying was quick on all papers tested, too. This ink performs very well!
I recommend this ink for everyone, and I’d love to see what is possible with a brush or water brush. LeeMing inks aren’t easy to find, but this one is worth the effort. I’ve seen them on AliExpress, and they’re regularly on Taobao (if it’s convenient for your area of the world you might try Shoppee, too).
Thank you to @artfromtheginden for sending this ink and others for review. I can see why you need to order another bottle!
