Krishna Ink - Biowood Green
Krishna Biowood Green is part of the three-ink ACR Soft series (there’s also a blue, and a red). These are inks made from organic compounds and designed to be “soft”, and thus, particularly safe for more delicate pen materials. They are also formulated to work well on papers not normally considered to be fountain pen-friendly! This makes the series ideal for everyday home and office use.
Biowood Green is indeed a very woodsy, forest green. It reminds me of the leaves of certain ivies or temperate forest trees. It’s a simple, but attractive, all-business, dark green.
As advertised, this is a very consistent, reliable writing ink. It isn’t a flashy or showy ink. There’s a bit of sheen on coated papers, but it isn’t aggressive, and I found very little in terms of shading. On the wide range of papers that I used for testing, it performed very well. It was clean and crisp on all. It also dries fairly quickly, which helps make it such a paper-friendly ink.
Most Krishna inks have a quaint, homemade feel in terms of bottling and packaging, and Biowood Green continues that aesthetic. It’s a lovable quality in the brand. They’re also very nicely priced. I think there’s room in every ink collection for attractive, inexpensive inks that work well on almost any paper. Krishna Biowood Green fits that need nicely!
