Giftionery Delta - Kitashinchi Red Night
Giftionery Delta Kitashinchi Red Night - Ink drop
From Giftionery Delta’s 4-ink “Mizuto“ series, this is Kitashinchi Red Night. The series is based on colorful scenes and moods of Osaka, which is Giftionery Delta’s home city. The other three include green gold, a jade blue, and a deep blue. I bought one, and this was the one that I thought would show the most character and excitement.

Kitashinchi is an entertainment and dining district in Osaka, the “city of water”. Red Night is inspired by the reflections and mood of the night glow of the red light district. The color is a magenta purple. On most papers, it’s less purple than pink, but light shaded areas lead to pinkish stroke ends. It’s a very nice shading ink, too, and the overall variation is quite wide. There are hints of sheen on the occasional stroke profile on some papers, as well. Many will like this ink. Like the district it’s inspired by, it’s a confident color that promises a lot and delivers!
Ink Swatches on Takasago Bank Paper and Iroful
Kitashinchi Red Night is made by Sailor for Giftionery Delta, and you get as good a writing experience as you probably imagine. Strokes are clean and sharp, and the flow is neutral to wet. It’s a very comfortable writing ink. There’s a little ghosting on standard office copy paper, but good-quality papers handle it well. The chromatography also shows that you can expect good water resistance.
