Diamine Brandy Dazzle - ink drop

First released as part of the Shimmertastic series in 2015, this is Diamine Brandy Dazzle, and dazzle it does! What a beautiful ink! Although it’s a tiny bit darker, this ink has all of the base color appeal of Diamine’s popular Ancient Copper. As a shimmer ink, however, this is a different animal altogether.

Brandy Dazzle is a rich, luscious, rusty, brownish orange. It’s absolutely bathing in a beautiful, fine-particle, copper-gold shimmer. Few inks put out this level of shimmer, but in my experience, it never caused even a hint of trouble in use or maintenance. There are varying levels of modest shading on some premiums, and even a surprising, darkened edge. It’s not going to work in professional settings, but you don’t buy it for the office. Visually, this is a real celebration masterpiece!

This ink writes very well, especially for such a powerful shimmer ink. Strokes were clean and crisp, and on premiums, they’re accentuated by the nice, darkened profile edging. Shimmer this strong without problems is a testament to the quality of Diamine expertise with shimmer inks. Drying was 10-15 seconds on premiums, and 5 seconds on office copy.

Diamine Brandy Dazzle is a beautiful ink. The combination of the beautifully rich base color, and the incredible shimmer is simply delicious! If they ever sell it by the liter, I’ll be the first in line to buy one!
