BlueBlack x Diamine - Cheese Burger
It must be the deliciousness of this color that inspired the name, because this ink is a feast for the eyes! Cheese Burger is a hilarious name for the seventh ink in BlueBlack and Diamine’s ten-ink New York City set (with additional sets for London and Seoul). I’ve been excited to try this ink since I first opened the set!
Cheese Burger is a gorgeous blend of rusty orange and brown. I like this color category and have a number of similar inks, but this might be my favorite. It has a creaminess that some lack, and for me, they’ve balanced the color components perfectly. The result is a beautiful, very friendly base color.
There’s a bit of shading on coated papers, and movement from dark to light along each stroke on uncoated papers. Like the others in the set, there’s a nice, defining, dark edge that frames each stroke on coated papers, too.
Cheese Burger is a fairly wet ink, and it’s very smooth in flow. It didn’t feather or spread on any of my seven test papers. It performed wonderfully on cheap copy paper. Drying times were good, too. It’s an excellent writing ink, and I don’t have a single complaint.
This is a fantastic ink. If I could buy it in Diamine’s 80 ml bottle, I definitely would!
Special thanks to BlueBlack for surprising me with this amazing set! Their store in Seoul is a must see for pen and ink lovers, and if you have a chance to stop by, definitely do!
