Peacock Green from the 3 Oysters Delicious series. It was among several inks released in the winter of 2020. Inks in the Delicious series are inspired by South Korean food and fashion, and the heavy influence color plays in how we perceive taste and style.

3 Oysters Peacock Green - hints of yellow

Visually, Peacock Green is a gorgeous ink that straddles the line between aqua blue and green. Ultimately, the green influences here are dominant, making it a peacock green. Broad nibs and areas of pooling really highlight the green and yellow undertones on the blue-green background base color. This is a nice shading ink, and the strong lights and darks create lots of movement and personality. The splatter shows heavy edge blackening, which can be seen in writing as a pronounced edge halo on premium papers. This is a beautiful, cheerful color, and it pops off the page.

As a writing ink, Peacock Green flowed smoothly and comfortably across the page, but I wouldn’t call it either wet or dry. Strokes were nice and crisp, with no feather or bleed. The strong halo on premium papers gave it a clean, well-defined profile. Shading was moderate to strong on all six test papers. Drying was average at 15-25 seconds on coated premiums, 10-15 seconds on uncoated premiums, and under 5 seconds on office copy. This is a nice writing ink, and it’s versatile across different styles of paper, which is always appreciated.

3 Oysters Peacock Green - fast drying times

I like 3 Oysters inks, and I was happy to see the six winter releases (I’ve reviewed all six). Peacock Green is a nice ink to work with, and it’s quite beautiful on the page. If you’re looking for something comfortable, with a bit of flair, but still usable in a professional setting, I’d consider Peacock Green from 3 Oysters. It’s delicious!
