Gazing at its ribbons of color and shine, I keep flip-flopping between the urge to slather bbq sauce on something, or curling up in a sleeping bag to spend the night next to a campfire under the stars! I’ve been looking at this ink all week, and the wow-factor has not faded at all.

Robert Oster - Hickory Aflame - Color Variation

The base is a warm blend of pinks, browns, and reds. Wetter application in the splatter and haloing in written strokes adds the textured, burnt-edge blacks that give it a flame-cooked appearance. A brilliant, luscious, gold shimmer generously coats the ink, and blending with the base color, it gives the ink a rose gold/bronze shine. The effect looks like dancing flames and really brings the name to life.

The writing experience is lovely. It has a beautiful consistency and flow, and dries quickly, too. I didn’t have any problems with the fine shimmer. Trust me; this is an ink you want!
