This ink is famous for a reason! Jacques Herbin Emeraude (or Emerald) de Chivor is a superstar in the shimmer ink world. It’s part of the 1670 collection. 1670 inks contain golden shimmer, and it’s very prominent here.

Jacques Herbin Emeraude de Chivor is a luxurious, deep, dark green teal. A gorgeous, predominantly gold shimmer erupts in a twinkling, multicolored canvas in wet application and areas of saturation. A deep plum red sheen adds missing elements to the spectrum, and generously decorates saturation in the splatter and written strokes. It’s more impressive on some papers than others, but this ink is not restrained. I doubt you’ll want it to be, either!

Like almost all of the inks in Jacques Herbin’s 1670 and 1798 collections, this is a wet and viscous ink. It glides smoothly on the page. For so much on display, it’s a surprisingly nice writing ink. Jacques Herbin uses a fine-particle shimmer. It’s generally easy to work with, and rarely causes problems with flow. However, you do need to regularly clean out shimmer inks for best results.

I strongly recommend trying Jacques Herbin Emeraude de Chivor. It’s a magical ink! If you’re looking for something similar without the gold shimmer, try Taccia Sabimidori.
