Lucia is indeed a lovely, deep water blue! As part of Vinta Inks’ pastel series, Deepwater Blue Lucia is a soft blue that’s powdery and full of character. As it dries, subtle patches of orangish pink emerge from its depths to swirl in the blue voids surrounded in a deep, rich edging.

As you can see from the splatter, at its lightest, this is a beautiful, pale light blue. With greater wetness and saturation, it darkens to a deeper mid-blue, and is heavily accented with soft pinks and hints of orange.

As a writing ink, it’s this deeper blue base that dominates in my wet medium test nib. The powdery center gives it a comfortable, cooling feeling. It’s highly defined due to the darkened edging, making strokes crisp and very easy on the eye. This is a gorgeous writing ink! It dries quickly, and it’s well-behaved in every way.
