PenBBS - 279 Glimmers Through Still Water - Ink drop

In a lot of ways, PenBBS really got it right with this ink. It’s both attractive and confident. PenBBS 279 Glimmers Through Still Water is an absolutely gorgeous, powdery, pale blue. PenBBs does shimmers well, and here it is a nice sparkling gold. It feels like bursts of sunlight twinkling on a late afternoon blue sky.

It's clean and clear out of a medium nib. It's also a wet ink, and that pale slightly greyish blue produces an extremely readable, well-defined, chalky blue stroke in writing. There’s some shading, and there would likely be a lot more if not for the glorious golden shimmer that pops from the ink at every angle. This is a beautiful shimmering ink. The gold has just a touch of green against the blue, and it’s restrained and simply accents the base. It works very well with both the powdery blue in the lighter areas, and the chalky blue of the more heavily saturated areas.

I really like this ink! My only wish is that they produce this in a non-shimmering version. I would love to be able to use this blue in situations where I don’t want to use a shimmering ink. This is a beautiful ink!
