Today’s ink is another beauty from Monteverde’s Sweet Life series. This is Mango Mousse, and the series continues to impress me. This ink has definitely become one of my favorites in this color category.

Visually, Mango Mousse is quite stunning. It’s a beautiful blend of vibrant, sunbeam yellow and citrus orange, and it very much matches the flesh of a perfectly ripe mango glistening in the sun. On uncoated papers, the orange dominates and is clear and pure. On coated papers, there’s a nice shading that shows the lighter yellows and highlights the extremes of the oranges. This ink oozes energy and vitality. There’s a nice halo edging on coated papers, as well, adding definition and clarity. What a beauty!

As a writing ink, Mango Mousse performs brilliantly. It’s quite wet, with a smooth, comfortable flow. Strokes were razor-sharp on all papers, but premiums have a crispness that comes with the halo edging. Yellow inks tend to dry a bit slowly, and that’s true here, but it’s within reason. Coated premiums dried in 20-30 seconds, uncoated premiums in 15 seconds, and office copy in 5 seconds. This ink is a pleasure.

I definitely recommend Monteverde Mango Mousse! It’s a very beautiful, vibrant ink, and it performs flawlessly. I’ve always loved this range of colors, and this is a fantastic ink at a fantastic price. This ink deserves your attention, and it deserves a lot more praise!
