I think Monteverde Iced Cookie is my favorite ink from the Sweet Life series. There are several standouts in the series, but Iced Cookie is just such a delicious blue! When I first got this bottle, I wasn’t so impressed, but I reached for it again after a break, and my feelings changed completely! I love it!

Iced Cookie is a lovely, dusty blue. To me, it’s an extremely cheery, and sophisticated blue. Rather than bold and bright (qualities I often like in a medium blue), this is far more graceful. The soft, powdery fluffiness gives it an understated persona that is quite opposite the electric blues of some of the really popular blues. You’ll find some shading, which emphasizes and adds movement.

It isn’t the perfect writing ink in suboptimal pairings. I’ve noticed some feathering on Rhodia (80g), which was unexpected. In my experience, it seems to happen more in wetter, broader nibs, but I found similar results with a Japanese medium, too. On other papers tested, I didn’t have the same problems. In these cases, strokes were clean and crisp. It dries fairy quickly, like many or most of the Monteverde inks.

I do recommend Monteverde Iced Cookie but choose your pen and paper to accommodate. The color is uncommon in the best of ways, and it’s just such a pretty blue. Blue lovers will really like this one, and likely won’t have another blue quite the same. I also love the bottle label! Life is sweet, even when it feathers once in a while!
