Emerald Green has all of the tones and hues of its namesake gem. The emerald greens in the swatch and splatter range from a clear, light mint to a deep, rich, luscious gemstone green.

In written strokes with a fairly wet, medium nib, the ink produces a lovely, friendly, middle emerald with a darker edging that makes strokes clear, crisp, and well-defined. In the splatter, the beautiful deep pink sheen floods from the extremes and edges. There’s also a touch of the reddish-pink sheen in the wetter areas of written strokes.

This is a well-behaved ink that dries reasonably fast. I find it a very pleasant green for writing and reading. As always, Monteverde inks are very nicely priced. Monteverde Emerald Green is a solid choice if you’re after a fairly standard green.
