Fall in Sunset is the second of two inks released in October 2022 from retailer, BestPen in Korea. This is a store-exclusive collaboration with ink maker Dominant Industry. Together, the ink names form a one-line poem, “With the friend wind, fall in sunset.”

While the first of the two-ink collaboration (With the Friend Wind) was a striking pink-violet, Fall in Sunset is a lovey, soft peach orange. Both inks are from the pearl series of shimmer inks, and a delicate white silver shimmer decorates the gentle pinks and oranges that show in the ink. There is a distinct deeper orange edging that helps the ink mimic fall sunsets in Seoul. The splatter shows a pink blush in areas of concentration, and fills stroke centers, as well. It’s quite pretty, and the two inks form a lovely pair.

Fall in Sunset is a nice, wet ink. It’s very comfortable on the page, and it’s much more legible than I first imagined. It’s probably best suited for creative works, but there’s no reason it couldn’t be a choice for casual writing, as well. I haven’t had any problems with the shimmer clogging flow or causing cleaning concerns. This ink performs well.

Bestpen offers this ink (and others from Dominant Industry) for only US$10! You’ll have to pay shipping, but they have a number of hard-to-find brands and good prices on inks. If you pick a few, the cost balances out nicely.

I really enjoy Dominant Industry inks, and Fall in Sunset is another of their many beauties. Together with the other store-exclusive, With the Friend Wind (previously reviewed), this is a beautiful pair. I have a couple more special inks form the brand to review, and I look forward to getting more in the future!
