What a nice surprise! I was worried about the readability of this gentle green, but it proved to be no issue at all. As it dries, King’s Road (왕의 길) from the Colorverse Korea Special series develops the depth and complexity that results in a very pleasant, very readable green.

King’s Road is the color of some leafy green vegetables, something similar to celery leaves or maybe iceberg lettuce. There’s an earthy hint of mustard and light brown in stroke centers that gives lines a very comfortable, friendly feeling. It made the ink stand out on all papers tested. It’s an unusual color. There’s a blue aura surrounding saturated areas on swatches, but there isn’t even a whisper of blue in lines of written strokes.

Writing performance and experience was good. It’s neutral to slightly wet in feel, but it dries quickly (very quickly on uncoated, average on coated papers.) On my better-quality papers, it’s clean and very well defined. On my cheaper papers, there is only the occasional, minor instance of feather. That’s true for my standard office copy paper, as well. As you can probably imagine, bleeding and showthrough were not issues at all, and I tested with a very wet, medium Jowo nib (the pen was a Cypress Micarta, maybe my favorite carttridge/converter pen for the price, by the way).

If the color interests you, King’s Road is well worth picking up. There aren’t a lot of similars. (My closest was Colorverse Walk the Dog, but it’s much darker overall.)

King’s Road and the other inks in the Korea Special series come in 15 ml bottles, and the attention to design details and packaging are beautiful, as usual. They’re widely available.

Thanks to Colorverse for sending this and a few others over as a gift. It is much appreciated!

And as always, whether I buy inks or pens or receive them as gifts, my reviews aren’t influenced in any way. I love finding new favorites, but if there’s a problem, I always mention it.
