Colorverse - Alpha Psc
Next from the Colorverse Constellation series is Alpha (a) Psc. It’s ink 015 in their ever-growing catalog. Named for the brightest star in the Pisces constellation, this is a lovely ink suitable for anything from casual to professional needs and uses.
I was worried that Alpha Psc would be too dark and show mostly as a deep, greenish black, but that isn’t the case (at least in medium or wider nibs). There is nuanced variety in this woodsy, forest green. It’s a subtle shader, but there’s some nice variation. It’s clean on the page, and hints of yellow help it vary in color from a smoky avocado or dusty bamboo green to a dark, shadowy forest green. It’s a very appealing, and somewhat uncommon color.
This ink flows comfortably. It's wet, but nicely controlled. A darkened edging is especially prominent on coated papers, and this gives it a well-defined stroke profile. There’s nothing to worry about in terms of feather or bleed, and drying was reasonable on all six test papers. This is a very pleasant writing ink.
Alpha Psc is the only green in the Colorverse Constellation series, and it’s both interesting and professional in appearance. It's an easy ink to like, and it can be used to add a bit of interest. It’s a great alternative to more standard office blues and blacks, but it will please for a wide range of uses. Enjoy!
