Colorverse - Alpha Boo
Alpha (a) Boo is the only pink/red in the Colorverse Constellation series. Named for Arcturus, the brightest star in the Boötes constellation (the herdsman), this is a great writing ink, and it really looks lovely on the page! It’s ink 009 in the Colorverse catalog.
Alpha Boo is a beautiful dusty rose red pink. The splatter image shows off the gentle pinks, as much as the sharper, darker tones. In writing, the deeper, redder aspects really come alive. This is a very nice shading ink, and together with a strong stroke edging, the variations give written passages mountains of character. On coated papers, there’s nothing flat or boring about this ink!
I mentioned the darkened edging, and that’s part of what keeps strokes clean and sharp here. I find this ink far more interesting on coated papers, where the shading and variations bloom, but it performed nicely on all six of my test papers. Drying was fairly quick, and there were no issues on the pages. This is a very nice writing ink.
I really like Alpha Boo. The complex coloration (see the chromatography image) is both sophisticated and serious, while remaining beautiful on the page. I think you’ll like this ink, too!
