Colorverse - Alpha And
This is the final ink in the Constellation series from Colorverse. Alpha (a) And was named for Alpha Andromedae from the Andromeda constellation (the pegasus). The swatch image places it in the middle of the three blues (or the lighter of the two greys) in the series, but it’s a lot more than that. It’s quite complex with lots of creative potential! In the Colorverse catalog, it’s ink 011.
From the chromatography image, you can see that this ink has some secrets! The swatch is accurate, but also misleading when compared with the color of written strokes. In writing, I’d call this a grey with yellow aspects and a touch of blue. In the swatch, it’s much more a blue, and it shows brownish yellows, and pinks swirling within its clouds. The color is perfectly suited for the office, but I suspect this ink shines brightest in creative uses.
Like many of the others in the series, flow is comfortably wet and consistent. Alpha And performed beautifully on the page on all six test papers. Coated papers really let it spread its wings, in terms of color and shading, but it always remains clean and sharp. Drying was average or better, and I’d say this is a very nice writing ink.
This is a fun series, with lots of surprises, and consistent high-quality. I enjoyed Colorverse Alpha And, and I recommend it for both professional and creative uses. Enjoy!
