Besen - Wobbling Moon
Besen Wobbling Moon - Ink drop
Wobbling Moon is from Besen Masterpiece, an in’house brand of the Korean retailer Bestpen. They have a shop in Seoul and a nice online shop, as well (www.bestpen.kr). They offer several house brands (including Jam Ink), lots of other exclusive collaborations, and a nice overall selection. Wobbling Moon is part of a 3-ink mini-series made by Wearingeul for Bestpen.
Ink Swatches on Cosmo Air Light and Tomoe River
This is a clean, complex slate blue. It starts off fairly ordinary, but that soon changes. In medium or broader nibs, nice violets and purples emerge in saturated stroke centers. It’s also a shimmer ink if you shake the bottle to fill (In order to feature the base color, I didn’t.) The shimmer is a brilliant platinum, and it really goes nicely with the various undertones. It seems to pick up aspects of each.
Ink Swatches on Iroful and Takasago Bank papers
Writing performance is good. It’s wet in flow with no problems with clogging. The experience is comfortable and consistent. Strokes are clean and sharp without worries of spread or feathering on all papers tested. Ghosting was low on all but office copy, and then only showed in a very wet writing pen. Nice ink!

Bestpen offers more exclusives than many other retailers. The prices are very nice, too! (I paid KRW12,000 or around US$7.50 for this bottle.) Wobbling Moon is more interesting than many of the seemingly similar inks. It comes in a 30 ml bottle, and there’s a small, leather, tri-fold grip for opening bottles. That’s a nice touch! You can find in in-store or online.
