Colorverse - Gingko Tree
Colorverse Gingko Tree is part of the Earth Edition: Wisdom of Trees series. It comes in a 65ml bottle together with a 15ml bottle of a nice yellow called Golden Leaves (a gingko leaf yellow). This is number 59 in their catalog, and it’s in the limited/special edition section.
Gingko Tree is a very attractive ink. It’s a warm combination of orange, red, and brown. This is the kind of orange that I really enjoy, and it’s a very useable color, as well. It’s a nice color for fun, but appropriate for more formal needs, too. The chromatography image below shows just how complex this ink is, and hints at nice water-resistance. Written strokes show a bit of the lighter orange shading, but the base here is the rich, golden-orange brown. Quite nice!
In writing, Gingko Tree leaves nothing to question or complain about. It pops off the page in a crisp, clean profile, with no feather and little show-through. It’s a smooth flowing ink, and it isn’t as dry as some of the others in the series. I’d say wetness is neutral, neither wet, nor dry. This ink writes effortlessly and beautifully.
In my opinion, the Colorverse Wisdom of Trees series doesn’t get nearly the attention it deserves. I think it’s one of the best-curated series from Colorverse. The three two-ink sets are lovely combinations, and the series in total creates a beautiful, autumn color palette. I especially like Gingko Tree, and honestly could use it every day without getting bored. I recommend everyone give this ink a try. Enjoy!
