Colorverse - Delicious Sleep
Delicious Sleep is from Colorverse Ink’s season 6, Joy in the Ordinary, which originally launched in November of 2019. I love the names of the inks in this series! It’s ink number 81 in their catalog, and the fifth ink of the six in the series that I’ve reviewed. Together, the box art creates a six-piece collage that you can see below. I’ve enjoyed each of the five.
Like the others in the series, Delicious Sleep is both comfortable and comforting. It has a powdery, milky coolness that’s easy on both the eye and the soul. These qualities are magnified on coated papers making them my choice aesthetically. The gentle confidence and relaxed nature of the color is this ink’s defining trait. It’s not a strong shader, but there is enough to add personality. There is also an edge halo on premium papers, which adds visual clarity. It’s a very attractive ink.
As a writing ink, Delicious Sleep performs nicely across a wide range of papers. It’s neither wet, nor dry, and flows smoothly. Strokes were crisp and nicely defined on all of the papers tested. Paper does play a role, however, in shading and halo. Both were more pronounced on coated compared to uncoated premiums. On office copy, there was slight shading, but no halo at all. Drying also varied, with coated premiums at 10-20 seconds, uncoated premiums at 10 seconds, and office copy at 5 seconds. The splatter showed a slight bronze sheen edging, but nothing came across in writing in my experience. Despite differences, this is a very nice writing ink.
Delicious Sleep is a fantastic purple! It’s gorgeous without being aggressive, and a very nice writer. Colorverse continues to impress, and this ink lived up to all of my expectations. Get some and enjoy!
