Vinta - Gold Dust Piloncitos
Gold Dust Piloncitos is something special! Piloncitos is the Tagalog word for old gold coins and gold tokens used for trade in centuries past. Vinta describes Gold Dust Piloncitos as the green patina and aged color of ancient gold coins. I think this is a very accurate description.
Like a treasure, this ink is certainly mesmerizing! It's a beautiful combination of colors. The patina green is heavily accented and accentuated by the intense sparkle and shine of the rich, dark gold shimmer. This carries through in written form, and it is equally effective.
As a writing ink, the earthy dark green holds up, and highlights the edges making strokes crisp and well-defined. Strokes sparkle from the center, making it a regal, celebratory writing ink. I haven’t had any problems with feathering or bleed, and it dries fairly quickly. This is not an ink that I would leave dormant in a pen for too long. The golden shimmer is fine, but dense. As with any shimmer ink, regular cleaning is important.
In Gold Dust Piloncitos 1521, Vinta has created a real winner. It’s a striking visual treat, and I don’t have anything really similar in my collection. If you like shimmering inks, or you’re looking for something special and a bit unusual, I definitely think that this is an ink to consider!
