Tramol - Candy - Orange
Candy Ink is the second series of waterproof pigment inks that I’ve tried from Tramol. It’s an 8-ink series that offers quite a nice palette of vibrant colors. This is less common than it should be for fountain pen inks, and it’s something I appreciate. Let’s look at Tramol’s Candy Ink Orange.
Candy Ink Orange is a vivid, punchy orange. It has a fresh and cheery personality. There’s some decent variation in shading, too. Lights reach towards the yellows of the morning sun, while darks descend to a deep, sunset orange. It’s a pigment ink, but it offers very clean coloration with very little or no visible pigment particles in writing. It’s a sure and well-founded blend of oranges.
This is a solid writing ink, as well. It has a nice flow consistency and dries quickly (generally 5-10 seconds). I tested the fastness, and this is a very water-resistant ink. As a pigment ink, I’d be careful about the possibility of staining. In my use, it stained a cheap plastic pipette, but it didn’t cause any problems when cleaning out feeds and convertors.
If you’re looking for some inexpensive variety in your waterproof ink options, I think Tramol is a great company to consider. I got this, and a couple of others in the series on AliExpress for US$4 per bottle (shipping including). As with all pigmented inks, I’d keep it away from pens that might stain, but this is a very nice, very happy ink!
