Today’s ink is a gorgeous, dusty, pastel, pinkish red. Robert Oster’s Whisper Red is both unusual, and classically beautiful. I don’t have any other reds with this level of soft, gentle powderiness. I can’t help but think of this as the perfect love letter red!

Robert Oster - Whisper Red - Color Range

Whisper Red writes quite nicely. It isn’t wet, but it isn’t really dry, either. I’d call it pleasantly balanced. There’s nice shading on most papers, with stroke ends lightening to a paler, reddish pink. The splatter shows a textured edging, but I didn’t find a strong halo-edge in writing.

I like Robert Oster Whisper Red, and I bet you will, too. I think most ink collections have room for a soft red that communicates emotion so well.
