Robert Oster rarely gets this wild, but that’s exactly what this ink is! This is No Fixed Address, a special edition ink from Robert Oster that makes me think of pre-pandemic Saturday nights! It’s a charity ink, too, and donations from each bottle sold pay for meals for families in need.

Robert Oster - No Fixed Address - Variation and Edge

No Fixed Address is a bright, rich, festive shimmer ink. It blends contrasting red base colors with blue shimmer to dramatic effect. Periwinkle blue shimmer is not so common, but Robert Oster have really created something special here! The red base is almost a strawberry red, and it’s heavily influenced by pink components, as seen in the chromatography, giving it a real playfulness. It’s not a strong shader in most nib and paper combinations, but there is a nice textured edging that can be seen clearly in the macro pics. This is a polarizing ink visually, and you’ll either love it, or firmly pass.

In writing, it’s neither wet, nor really dry, but I found it to be very comfortable on the page. The shimmer is of a very fine particle and didn’t present any issues in flow or cleaning. Once dry, it didn’t have problems with smearing, either. Drying was about average overall, but a bit slower on coated papers.
