Robert Oster - Muddy Swamp
This is Muddy Swamp from the seven-ink MudPack collection from Robert Oster, and it’s an intriguing, mysterious ink. This ink changes significantly in appearance based on lighting, paper, nib and flow qualities, and proximity to other colors. I didn’t expect to be very interested in this one, but I really like it!
The base is a grey blue-green, but this ink is hard to categorize. Look once and it’s a green, look again and it’s clearly a blue! On its own, it generally ranges from grey-green (an ashy, forest or dried seaweed green) to a green-grey, with strokes from light to dark grey. It shades fairly nicely, and this adds to the visual variation. I really like it, but it’s far from the color I first expected!
This is another nice writing ink from Robert Oster, and it has the characteristic Robert Oster feel. It isn’t really dry, but it isn’t wet, either, and it flows comfortably. It’s clean and sharp, and suitable for work or play. Drying was better than average, and in performance there’s nothing really to fault.
I’ve included some comparison inks, but each varies slightly from Muddy Swamp. I like this one, and I think you will, too! Enjoy!
