Robert Oster - Australis Tea - Ink drop

Australis Tea is one of four inks in the Robert Oster limited edition Australis Colours collection. The collection was introduced in the spring/summer of 2020, and also includes Australis Rose, Oak, and Hydra.

Robert Oster - Australis Tea - Shading

This is a lovely, vegetal blend of green and yellow. Light areas lean yellow, similar to a cup of green tea. More saturated areas release the green. Here it is much greener and creamier than the light areas and resembles a green tea ice cream. There is a nice stroke halo, and the splatter shows crisp, dark edging in wet areas, too. I like this ink. It reminds me of a much more organic version of Iroshizuku Chiku-rin.

The writing experience is pleasant. It isn’t a particularly wet ink, but it isn’t dry, either. It’s very comfortable on coated papers. Drying was a bit quicker than average. I think this is a nice writing ink.
