Iroshizuku - Fuyu-gaki
What a powerhouse! This is orange on steroids! Fuyu-gaki means persimmon, and that’s really what you find. There is the concentrated deep orange purity of a perfectly ripe persimmon.
This orange is deep and concentrated in color, and it almost glows. I’ve added a beautiful (unfiltered or altered) sunset picture that compares very well. Fuyu-gaki is a beautiful reddish orange like the sky with the setting sun. Stunning!
The pen pictured in the first and second images is a Jinhao 159 in orange. Jinhao’s orange is a strong orange, but Fuyu-gaki almost shames it. I really like the many Iroshizuku inks that I’ve tried, and Fuyu-gaki performs equally well to the others. It’s too nuclear in its orange intensity for many situations, but for accent areas or editing, it’s a real winner. Life is good in persimmon!
