Pierre Cardin - Coral Pink
Pierre Cardin Writing Instruments is based in Hong Kong. Operated by I-Way Co. Ltd, they are an official extension of the iconic fashion design label. The brand offers a lovely assortment of inks, but outside of their website (www.pierrecardin.hk), I’ve only seen them for sale at select online retailers in Asia and one or two in Europe. I picked up today’s ink in Korea, and I wish I had bought the full selection! They have some interesting selections and are priced quite nicely.
Today’s ink is Coral Pink from their City Fantasy collection. Most of the line relate to more traditional world cities, but in this case it was inspired by a sea life city, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef!
This is a true coral pink. It’s bright and concentrated, full of life and joy. I have a number of coral inks, and this is by far the richest. It really exceeded my expectations. There’s some nice dark edging, which helps it pop even more. The splatter shows a bit of gold sheen edging, as well, but I didn’t see any in writing. It flows nicely, both smooth and consistent. It’s a joy to use!
I’m really impressed with the quality of this ink. This isn’t a brand company that makes ink, this is an ink company that has a great brand! It’s a great writing ink, and a brilliant, punchy coral pink. I’d love to see it dry a bit faster, but that’s not uncommon in pinks and bright reds, and it’s definitely not a deal-breaker. I’m looking forward to trying more from Pierre Cardin!
