Pennonia - Méregzöld
I’ve been excited to try this ink for some time. It’s from a company that’s really impressed me, and a color that really appeals to my eye. This is Méregzöld (Poison Green) from Pennonia.
Visually, this is a beautifully saturated peacock teal. It’s a potent, very attractive blue-green. It’s a nice shading ink, and the shading shows off the color components well. Light areas allow blues to significantly accent strokes, while dark areas do the same for greens. There are strong yellow undertones that surfaces in cloudy swirls within the green areas. The splatter shows thick, blackened edges topped with rich, electric pink-red sheen. In writing, the edging becomes a dark halo, but I didn’t find much sheen.
This is a very nice, very consistent and controlled writing ink. It performs exactly as you hope and expect. Strokes were clean and crisp, with the halo providing nice separation and depth. It was neither wet, nor dry, but flowed comfortably. Drying was 15 seconds on premiums, and under 5 seconds on office copy.
I often prefer a peacock teal over a more traditional blue or green, and this is a lovely example. Pennonia inks are priced very affordably, and come in nice 50 ml bottles. I think they are a great company to support, as well. I’m very happy to be able to recommend this lovely ink!
