Monteverde Purple Mist is a lovely, pure violet, without even a hint of the reddish influence, which is the defining difference between a purple, and a violet. It's a very pretty, soft, powdery pale in both the swatch, and in drier nibs and feeds.

As you can see from the splatter, Purple Mist is much bolder, and I think better as a writing ink, in juicier, broader nibs, where the deeper tones have a chance to develop on the paper. In terms of drying, it’s neither quick, nor slow, and there’s some nice shading under ideal conditions. While there’s a silvery-ashen sheen visible in the splatter, I haven’t found any in writing.

Like all Monteverde inks, the price is extremely reasonable. I think you’ll enjoy Purple Mist, especially when paired with a juicy, wet writer. There’s always room for more purples and violets!
