KWZ Ink - Menthol Green
Let’s take a look at KWZ Menthol Green. This is an all-around nice ink, and would make for a very cheery, reliable everyday ink. It’s refreshing and upbeat with a little zing, and matches the name well.
Visually, Menthol Green is a very interesting ink. It’s quite likable, and it looks great on paper. It goes on as a fresh, vibrant turquoise blue, and instantly begins transforming to reveal interesting greens and hints of yellow. It’s a nice shading ink. Light areas fade into a lighter blue, which contrasts beautifully with the darker areas that develop deeper marine greens. The splatter shows a wide, blackened, sheen edging on areas of pooling, but nothing shows in writing. There’s moderate stroke halo on Rhodia and Kokuyo, but it’s much weaker on the other premium papers tested, and it disappears completely on office copy.
As a writing ink, stroke profiles were clean and sharp on both coated and uncoated premiums, and were quite nice on office copy, too. Both shading and halo were stronger on coated premiums, but showed on uncoated premiums, as well. Drying was fastest on Kokuyo and Fabriano at 5-15 seconds, and office copy at under 5. The others were 10-20 seconds, which is still nice. It’s a versatile ink that seems to perform well on any papers.
KWZ consistently makes nice inks. Menthol Green is visually both beautiful and captivating. It performs very well, and it would work as an everyday ink. The green aspects make it far more interesting than a standard turquoise. I highly recommend trying it!
