KWZ Ink - Green Gold #2
Green Gold 2, is from Poland’s KWZ Ink. If you’ve read my reviews, you’ll know that I’m a fan. I’m puzzled by the name Green Gold 2. While the original Green Gold is truly a greenish-gold, I don’t see even a hint of gold in number two. What I do see, however, I love!
This is a gorgeous green, brimming with vitality, health, and hope. In photosynthesis, chlorophyll helps plants absorb energy from light. The chlorophyll green of this ink is energizing and invigorating. Verdant and fertile, to me, this green is the color of life. At its best, it’s a lovely shading ink, with beautifully contrasting lights and darks adding personality and flair to the page.
As a writing ink, it performs well when paired with the right paper. In my tests, Rhodia and Kokuyo were the best. Both produced crisp, well-defined strokes, with no feather. Shading is where Rhodia had a slight edge. Drying times were longer than I prefer on both (45-50 seconds). There was a bit too much feathering on Mnemosyne, but drying times were halved. Feathering was slightly better on office copy paper compared to many inks, and drying times were very fast (5 seconds). It’s usable on copy paper, but it isn’t especially pretty.
I’m not usually tolerant of longer than average drying times, but it’s easy to forgive for this green. Despite the feathering on some papers, KWZ Green Gold 2 is just too pretty to pass over. It brings so much life to a page of words. It inspires confidence, promotes positivity, and nurtures optimism. This is definitely one of my top three greens for color!
