KWZ Ink - El Dorado
Much like the mythical city of gold from which it gets its name, there’s an inherent allure to KWZ El Dorado.
The ink swatch card shows a brilliant, vibrant, orange yellow that darkens to a true, deep golden yellow. The ink splatter shows the deeper reds that appear with wet application and in areas of pooling. At the extremes, we see a darkening of the edges, and traces of yellow sheen.
As a writing ink, El Dorado performs well. Strokes are clean and crisp, without feathering or bleed. It isn’t the fastest drying ink, but for me, it’s fast enough to be acceptable. The color of written strokes depends on the nib, flow, and paper. It can appear as the yellow of a delicious orange juice, the red-orange flesh of a ripe papaya, or something in between.
In my experience, KWZ inks are consistent and reliable, and El Dorado continues that tradition. Like most KWZ inks, there is the slight smell of vanilla. You may feel differently, but I’ve always liked it! El Dorado is a lovely ink that dances between golden yellow and reddish orange. If that’s something you’ve been looking for, I definitely recommend it!
