Encre Classique - Turquoise
Based in Albi, France, L’Artisan Pastellier is one of the hidden gems of the ink world! From art inks to writing inks, they offer a huge variety of ink styles with a wide range of each. Many of their inks are mixable, as well, so the possibilities really are endless. Their high-quality inks are also some of the least expensive on the market! I’ve tried quite a few of their inks and liked each one.
Today’s ink, Turquoise, is from their 24-ink Encre Classique collection of mixable colors. It’s a gorgeous, aqua greenish blue with mountains of personality. It’s a beautiful, rich color with heavy greens and yellows swirling within the base of turquoise blue.
There are many turquoise inks out there, but this one really stands out in my opinion. It’s a very heavy shader, with both lights and darks blending through every stroke on many papers. There’s also a bold, dark stroke edging that gives it a very dramatic look and feel. The final touch is the burst of fiery magenta sheen that sometimes shows itself in writing.
Like the other L’Artisan Pastellier inks that I’ve tried, this ink is beautiful on the page and a pleasure to use. I highly recommend you give it a try! If you order directly from the company (L’Artisan Pastellier), a 30 ml bottle is only €3.90, and they‘re generally around US$7 at other online retailers. That’s a real bargain for such good inks!
