Diamine Syrah - deep red with sheen!

What a gorgeous wine red we find in Diamine Syrah. I want to pour myself a glass or three of a nice wine and enjoy the afternoon! Diamine make some really lovely deep reds, and Syrah is certainly one of them! It’s part of their standard line of inks and comes in both a 30ml bottle or a massive 80ml bottle. Both options are extremely well priced.

Diamine Syrah - light and dark shades

At its lightest, Diamine Syrah has a lush, richness, but there are tiny hints of the white of the paper peeking through the redness, much like it would through a thin layer of spilled wine. You can expect some shading from medium to dark, but it isn’t as strong as you might like. In darker areas of greater application, the color is concentrated and full like a wine saturated with tannins. As you can see in the splatter, there are wide ribbons of beautiful greenish bronze sheen surrounding areas of pooling.

Diamine Syrah - ink swatch card and drying

As a writing ink, Diamine Syrah produces clean, crisp strokes with clearly defined, darkened edges and occasional touches of the same golden sheen. It’s average in terms of drying time, and very well-behaved.

I think this is a really beautiful, deep scarlet, plum red, and a nice writing ink, too! Diamine Syrah is all about the luscious color. If this is a color that appeals to you, it’s an ink you should consider.
