Diamine - Electric Pink
This ink is pure, VIP fun! Originally released in Diamine’s 2017 Shimmertastic series, this is Electric Pink. Diamine do a great job with shimmer, and in this case it’s a brilliant, fine-particle silver.
This is one very potent parade of pink! The silver shimmer contrasts beautifully against the blood pink base color. In writing, it often comes across as a punchy magenta, bordering on a plum red. There’s a nice, dark edging that can be seen in writing, but the splatter shows an added bonus. The surprise is a brassy gold sheen emerging from the dark edging. Some might want less in an ink (they’re no fun at all), but you certainly couldn’t ask for more!
Diamine shimmers are generally easy to work with, and Electric Pink hasn’t given me any problems writing or cleaning. It’s a shimmer, though, so you need to expect that it will take a little extra time to completely clean some feeds. It’s a fairly wet ink, and it flows smoothly. Drying was reasonably quick, so no problems there, either. It might not be the best Monday at work ink, but it’s a really nice writing ink. You don’t always get that in an ink this showy.
I love the combination of the deep, saturated pink-red colors, the nice, dark stroke edging, and the polished sparkle of the silver shimmer. I don’t think I have anything quite the same! I found it to be darker than some of the retailer’s swatches that I’ve seen online, and I think my photos show it very accurately. Enjoy!
