De Atramentis - Cyan Blue Gold
A couple of years ago, De Atramentis came out with a pearlescent mini-series of cyan blue shimmers. The series included shimmers in bronze, silver, gold, and copper. Today’s ink is the gorgeous Cyan Blue Gold, and I can’t help but think of the beautiful blue and gold macaw. It also reminds me of PenBBS no.103, Hyacinth Macaw, an ink I’ve reviewed and enjoy.
This is a big personality ink! It’s a beautiful, rich, vibrant cyan, that turns into a deep, bright light-to-medium blue in wet application. Although there is some shading visible, it’s largely covered by the lush, fine-particle shimmer if you’ve shaken the bottle before filling a pen. The ink has a very pleasant consistency, writes beautifully, and dries quickly. I didn’t have any problems with the shimmer.
I think this mini-series is a really interesting exploration of various shimmers, and uses a beautiful, strong background. The gold shimmer is obviously quite striking against the blue, but I’m sure the other three are gorgeous with it, as well. I’d love to see more comparison series like this from De Atramentis, and other makers, too. I definitely think you’ll enjoy this one.
