Colorverse - Goryeo Celadon
I’ve been hoping to get a bottle of Colorverse x BlueBlack Goryeo Celadon since it was first released over a year ago. The packaging and bottle imagery are exquisite, and the theme means a lot to me. This is a limited-edition ink exclusive to BlueBlack pen and ink. Check them out online or at the store in Seoul, Korea.
The name Goryeo Celadon refers to both the Goryeo dynasty that ruled Korea from 918-1392, and for the uniquely Korean, fine porcelain noted for its delicate green. Colorverse Goryeo Celadon is a soft, dark, straw green that most resembles the iconic ceramics in areas of shading.
Shading is most prevalent on uncoated papers, and it's here that I find the ink most interesting. On coated papers it’s more consistently dark, and there is a hint of bronze sheen in the splatter. This ink is very usable for all situations and would definitely make a nice daily choice.
This is a nice writing ink. It has the smooth, consistent, fairly wet flow of many Colorverse inks. The chromatography reflects a decent water-resistance, too. I didn’t have any problems with feather, and only a slight show through on some uncoated papers. Drying was a bit longer than average, but not problematic. On uncoated papers, it dries very quickly.
Goryeo Celadon is a very attractive ink that performs well. For those outside Korea, the only real problem is getting it, but BlueBlack ships internationally. I suggest putting together a larger order to bring those costs down. They have a large selection of interesting, hard-to-find inks, and their prices are really good. Take a look on their site, and enjoy this graceful ink!
