Callifolio - Equinox 6
This is Equinoxe 6 from L’Artisan Pastellier’s Callifolio line. L’Artisan Pastellier uses natural dyes to create a wide selection of inks designed to be safe for even your most precious vintage pens. They also make some of the most reasonably priced inks on the market (even compared to Diamine!) If you order direct from L'Artisan Pastellier, you can get 35 ml bottles for €6 or 50 ml pouches for €4.80, and their Classique line is even cheaper!
I expected more green in Equinoxe 6, but I’m not disappointed at all. What I found is an absolute blue-lover’s blue! It’s the deep channel blue of a pristine sea. There’s some shading, which adds interest, and a nice, darkened edging. The splatter shows a nice magenta sheen, and in writing subtle hints of red occasionally show on stroke edges on some papers, but you really have to look for them. For me, this is much prettier than a standard blue.
Like the many other inks from L’Artisan Pastellier that I’ve tried, Equinoxe 6 is a very comfortable and consistent writing ink. On all papers tested, it was clean and crisp, but drying time varied from paper to paper. All in all, this is a fantastic writing ink.
If you haven’t given L’Artisan Pastellier inks a try, please do! They’re consistent, reliable, and come in a wide range of styles and colors. I particularly recommend the extensive Callifolio series inks, but the Classique series are great, too. Enjoy!
