This is my first Benu, and I’m really impressed! I’ve been interested in Benu and was surprised with this gift from my parents in early 2022. Benu has a strong following and a great reputation. Originally based in Russia, they successfully relocated the company and their team of employees to Armenia around the time I got this pen.
Unique in the market, their designs are innovative and opulent, sometimes edgy, but always dripping with personality. For some, there is probably an uncomfortable amount of bling to most of their models. I’m not sure that I would have chosen this pen on my own, but that would have been my loss. Once it was in my hand, it took almost no time at all to understand the appeal. Benu balances a bold design profile with just the right amount of sparkle. It wouldn’t be the same pen without it. I instantly understood what they were trying to achieve, and what makes their fans so devoted.

This is the Benu Supreme, and the beautiful material is called Symphony. This model was originally crowdfunded through Indiegogo in 2017 and comes in several colors. I love the Olympic torch shape (the diameter at the top is 1.5x larger than at the bottom), and the resin is soft and silky. It’s a very comfortable pen, and it feels very strong and well-made. As you can see, it’s got a lot of bling, but it isn’t over-the-top. The turquoise acrylic material is a bit darker in person, and the beautiful opal sparkle is jaw-dropping. It’s a great balance of colors.

The number six, medium nib is possibly my first Schmidt, and it’s smooth, fairly wet, and perfectly tuned. I assume Benu checked it before sending it, because it was perfect right out of the box. There isn’t a lot of variation, but it writes beautifully and handles long writing sessions very well.

I’m really impressed with Benu, and the Benu Supreme. Every detail has been finished to exacting standards. It definitely won’t be my last!
