3 Oysters - Caramel Macchiato
This is Caramel Macchiato from 3 Oysters in Korea. Very appropriately, it’s part of their Delicious series. It was one of six new inks, two of which are coffee themed, introduced at the end of 2020.
Visually, this ink provides strong hints of creamy caramel and coffee. It’s a delicious blend! There’s a good amount of shading, which reveals a nice continuum from amber to chocolate browns. The transitions are smooth, enhancing feelings of comfort. A decent edge halo adds depth and definition. It’s a beautiful, relaxing ink.
This is the fifth of the six new inks, that I’ve tried. I’ve long liked 3 Oysters inks. I don’t know what’s different from their earlier releases, but the new ones have all felt a little more consistent in their performance, and a little more comfortable on the page. They’ve all been very nice writing inks, as well. Caramel Macchiato is wet and smooth. Strokes were clean and sharp, with shading seen on all six test papers. The edge halo showed on all except office copy. Drying was average at 15-20 seconds on most premiums (Fabriano was a quick 10 seconds), and under 5 on office copy.
This is a very nice ink. Beautiful, and a pleasure to use, I definitely recommend 3 Oysters Caramel Macchiato!
