This refreshing blast is Jade Vine from Ink Institute. Produced by Juspirit stationery store in Taipei, Taiwan, the brand has a beautiful aesthetic and offers a number of fun series with unusual inks. Many of the bottles and packaging feature original art using the inks that they contain.

Ink Institute Jade Vine - color range

A beautiful aquamarine blue with hints of green, Jade Vine comes alive in the splatters’ wide range of tones. An unusual hint of white sheen is visible in the top right quadrant of the swatch, and at the edges of pooled areas if you look very closely. This is a strong shading ink, and each stroke blends lights and darks to an impressive degree.

At first glance, I was worried that this ink would function poorly as a writing ink, but that’s not the case. It's a beautiful writer with well-defined edges, and it's highly readable. I didn’t have any problems with feather or show-through. It’s wet and smooth flowing, and it performs beautifully.

I really like Jade Vine. Everything about it is well done. The brand is slowly becoming more available, and I look forward to trying some of the other selections from Taiwan’s Ink Institute.
